“CRUDE AWAKENING”
Lots of things are made from oil like toothpaste,trash bags, gasoline, home heating oil and much more. Guess what the most important thing traded between countries is. OIL! Did you know that the first oil well was drilled ion the shore of oil creek in Titusvill PA. Now we have a problem, the oil is running out. There is only 2.6 trillion barrels left in the world. We will only pump out 1.7 trillion barrels, the remaining 900 billion barrels are in rock formations and are heard to get to. 2.6 trillion may seem like a lot but it really is not. Once most of the oil is pumped out of the ground the remaining oil will be harder to get out, also more expensive. Then we will have to look for oil in places we least expect it. I believe that we will run out of oil eventually, and we wil have to come up with alternative sources of energy like solar power and wind power. The fact that we are going to run out of oil just pushes sientests to come up with new forms of energy. The countries that have the most oil formed an organization called OPEC which stands for organization of pateroleum exporting countries. For example the 11 countries that make up OPEC are, Algeria, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, The United Arab Emirates and Venezuela. Out of all these countries Saudi Arabia has the most crude oil. OPEC can influence the price of oil by increasing and decreasing the supply of oil. Will we run out of oil? Will we be able to find more officiant ways to use oil? Some of these questions will not be answered in OUR lifetime.
